What this is
CarGrid is a frontend-only showcase of a luxury automotive platform. There is no server, no database, no real reservation, and no tracking pixel. Every interaction you take here happens entirely within your browser tab. When you close the tab, the state is gone, unless your browser chose to remember a single thing: which theme you preferred.
What is stored locally
The application uses your browser’s localStorage for one purpose: remembering whether you chose the light theme, the dark theme, or to follow your operating system. The key is carshowroom.theme. Clearing your site data, in any modern browser, removes it.
The booking flow keeps form state in component memory only. A page reload resets the flow. Saved-vehicle interactions persist for the duration of the session. Nothing is written to disk.
What is not collected
- 01No analytics, of any kind
- 02No cookies, for advertising or measurement
- 03No third-party scripts, beyond the Google Fonts CDN and Unsplash CDN for vehicle imagery
- 04No data sent to any server about your activity
- 05No personally identifiable information of any kind
Imagery and the open web
Vehicle photography is sourced from Unsplash and served from their CDN. When you load a page, your browser requests these images directly from images.unsplash.com. Unsplash’s privacy policy is documented separately on their site. The fonts (Geist and Inter Tight) are served by Google Fonts and are subject to Google’s privacy practices.
If you build on this
Should you fork this work into a real product with real users, please write a real privacy policy. This one is honest only because the demo is honest. A live deployment with backed services has different obligations, and rightly so.
